Turning am Annual Conference into a Catalyst for Change

The Telstra Dealer Channel was holding it's annual conference with over 100 people from across their business. Amidst a sea of change and many product priorities, a scheduled conference workshop threatened to be another drifting talk-fest that raised expectations and diminished the commitment to follow through.

However, a few months on from the conference, the National Manager - Dealer Operations says this about the results...

Meeting by Design

The effectiveness of the workshop arose out of the preparation and design work. Based on teleconference working meetings, a small committee defined the key challenges facing the team, and this gave a fix on a central theme, which was then built in to a detailed workshop process.

FAST Facilitation

The workshop provided maximum time for the delegates to interact, using small group discussions, and keeping the energy within the conference ballroom. Due to the diversity of ideas shared rapidly, the group were able to identify key solution areas and this allowed ample time to develop practical project ideas. By the conclusion of the program, non management leaders had volunteered to drive the projects forward, thus creating a new level of ownership for change that had not been seen before in the group
