Retravision: Powering up Profitable Partnerships through a Facilitated Workshop

Retravision's leaders wanted to stimulate new ways of thinking and relationship building at their Annual Conference in Hobart by adopting new approaches and changing the tried and tested formula. A 3 hour workshop was programmed for 400 Store owners and Suppliers focussed on Profiting from Partnerships.

A highly succesful workshop delivered 3 agreed priorities for progress which have since been implemented, enabling higher return on Retravision's conference investment.

Planning and Design

With such diversity of participants and the sheer size of the workshop group, there was significant risk of any tangible benefits being delivered, or worse, that critical business issues raised would not be handled constructively.

FAST Meetings Co. was contracted to design the workshop content and facilitate the session. The initial Meeting by Design™ phase identified 2 key groups of issues, and these became the basis for the session design.

The session delivered

The afternoon of the session was much anticipated by all delegates, as it was a break from the traditional mold. The meeting approach utlilised small group conversation tools like Conference Cafe', coupled with electronic key pad responders, enabling a fast moving, interactive format in small groups.

Initial issues were identified and prioritised and this lead to identification of 3 key themes. Opportunities for transformation were then addressed for each, and a closing dialogue helped the entire group see the emerging themes for progress.

Outcomes

The feedback was very positive, and both members and suppliers gained benefits both from the diverse networking opportunities, as well as the chance to discuss the alignment of strategy, culture and operations that impact their relationships on a day to day basis.

3 months on, and the Retravision leaders have taken on the 3 themes and implemented them within existing structures and programs, so that Store owners and Suppliers see the workshop outcomes being put into practice.
